Dr. Derrick L. Leeper, PT, DPT
Dr. Derrick Leeper obtained his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University of Saint Mary in 2019. Derrick is originally from Kingston, MO, a small community one-hour northeast of Kansas City. Raised as the youngest child on a cattle and row crop farm where his parents still reside today, he enjoyed the honest, hard-working, caring environment that that community provides and strives to incorporate these values into his professional career. Derrick graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Missouri Valley College where he played collegiate baseball. While playing baseball he took interest in physical therapy and return to sport rehabilitation after witnessing the recovery process of teammates who were injured. His background in baseball provides him with unique perspectives on diagnoses, recoveries, and movement patterns associated with sporting injuries. Derrick’s interests within the profession include advanced spinal and extremity mobilization/manipulation, manual therapy, dry needling, and sports medicine. He looks to continue to develop in these treatment strategies within the profession. Outside of the clinic Derrick enjoys outdoor activities such as dirt bike riding, golfing, hiking, snowboarding, and mountain biking. Derrick can also be found supporting local sport teams and working on advocating for the fitness community.
