Things to Consider Before Visiting a Physical Therapy Location
To save you time and ensure that you’re well prepared when walking into your first physical therapy appointment, we’ll lay out everything you need to know here. Per traditional physician appointments, you’ll fill out the standard medical history form and clinic specific paperwork as needed. To speed up that process, see if you can pick it up early and email or mail it in. Otherwise, show up a bit early prior to your appointment to ensure enough time to complete it.
What You’ll Need:
- Your driver’s license or government-issued photo ID
- Insurance cards/documentation
- Physician referral (if you have one)
- Up-to-date list of medications
- Any recent radiology reports
- To wear comfortable clothing
Keep in mind that these appointments are going to be on the longer side of things to ensure that the physical therapist has ample time to create and adapt treatment plans unique to you. Most initial visits last anywhere between one-to-two hours, with follow-up appointments typically clocking in under an hour. The physician and physical therapist will work with you to figure out the necessary duration and frequency of your clinic visits based on need and treatment plan. Changes to the schedule may occur based on progress and individual circumstance.
Get rid of your lingering pain and visit one of our Colorado physical therapy locations today!
